When we purchase a quarter of a beef we always end up with quite a few roasts. The kids aren't huge fans of cooked roast so this works perfect to make jerky. I use the arm roast cut. Cut into thin pieces. Ours is frozen so it works best to let it partially thaw. It is a lot easier to cut if it is still a little frozen.
10 ounces of Soy Sauce
10 ounces of Worcestershire Sauce
5-10 ounces of Teriyaki Sauce (optional)
4 ounces Liquid Smoke (optional)
3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
3 Tablespoons of Garlic Powder
3 Tablespoons of Onion Powder
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix. Add sliced meat and let marinate all day or overnight. You can stir it a few times if you remember.
I have not tried making beef jerky yet, but it is on my list of things to do! My husband loves the stuff. Thanks for posting this.
