My hubby and I have decided to add a new category to our budget. I am hoping this will keep us from dipping into some other categories. Starting this month we have set up a category for each of us to have a little fun money for ourselves. An allowance if you will. We will still have our Entertainment category in the budget but this money will be for whatever we want to get for ourselves. Now there will be no guilty feelings if we stop for a breakfast sandwich or some new scrapbook paper!

Budgeting Fun Money

That's a great idea. I've been allowing for some fun money as well. It seems that we don't feel as deprived with it. If we want it we get it with the fun money and we don't spend as much that way.
ReplyDeletewe are on the dave ramsey budget, too... and we set aside $60 - 30 for each of us per month. we aren't allowed to dip into any other fund. i put half of that each month toward scrapbooking supplies. :) :) :)
