Homemade Dinner Rolls

These dinner rolls are really easy to make and don't take long to rise. So, if you are in a pinch for time you can make these rolls in under an hour.

Ingredients~
5-6 cups of unsifted flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 pkg. active yeast
1 c. milk
2/3 c. water
1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
2 eggs, room temperature

In large bowl, mix 2 cups flour, sugar, salt and undissolved yeast. Combine milk, water and butter in saucepan. Heat over low heat until liquids are very warm (butter does not need to melt). Gradually add to dry ingredients. Beat 2 minutes with electric beaters. Add eggs and 3/4 cup flour. Beat 2 minutes on high speed. Add additional flour to make a stiff dough.

Turn out onto floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic - 8-10 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap and in a towel. Let rest 20 minutes. Punch down dough; divide into 3 equal parts. Make 10-12 small balls from each part. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

  1. I love making homemade bread. I've only tried rolls once and they didn't turn out well. I'm going to try this recipe to see if I have better luck. Thanks for sharing!
