Welcome Grocery Gathering readers! Here is a preview of the list of deals that I see at Hy-Vee. I base my deals on what is shown at least 50% regular price for the store. I also post anything else that I consider a pretty good deal. I use central Iowas ad when making this list. My store takes both printable coupons and manufacturer coupons from the paper. Please check your local ad to confirm these deals in your area.

Wow Sara...it DOES look like a slower week! I'm glad I'm pretty stocked up and don't need anything lol. It will be interesting to see what our Hy-Vee ad looks like on Wednesday. Yours is generally pretty close so I use it as my sneak peek! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Sara...I wrote to you a couple months ago when I was brand new to couponing and you were very encouraging. One of the things that we talked about was the difficulty in sifting through all the things that aren't offered in our local Iowa stores. Although, I am very proud of the savings I've achieved, I still am unable to get close to the "cart full of groceries for .25 cents or cash back!" I keep studying all the blogs and sites, but am wondering if the people who can really do this, like you see on the talk shows and news etc are the people who are able to capitalize on double and triple coupons. I may be totally wrong and know that I still have a lot to learn. Maybe I just haven't gotten to that point yet. Do you, however, know of any stores in our central Iowa area to do offer double and triple coupons and when? I appreciate your insite. Thanks, Michelle
ReplyDeleteWe had a hyVee floral van pull up today - a guy walked the neighborhood hanging door knob hangers with free (five items) coupon on everyone's front door.

ReplyDeleteTo my knowledge there are no stores that regularly double or triple coupons around Iowa. Every once in awhile Kmart will hold a special where they will double coupons but that is the only store that I have ever heard to do that.
I have never come close to getting a cart load of groceries for a quarter! I think that the people on TV can be a little intimidating. I am sure that being able to double coupons would sure make a HUGE difference! Unfortunately we don't get that privilege around here!
Don't worry about it. There are times I go to the stores and use no coupons and feel good with my purchases because I shopped the loss leaders and saved alot just off of regular prices.
Any savings you get you should be proud of!
