Food Update...
Well we are officially out of fresh fruit. What I do have is...
canned applesauce
canned peaches
canned pears
canned pineapple
frozen blueberries, strawberries and a few raspberries
We are on out last bit of lettuce and spinach. We have a small bag of carrots left. The milk and bread are gone. I have a little bit of powdered milk left and I will make a loaf of bread this afternoon.
Our freezer has a pretty good dent in it. Still plenty of main course food though; fish, chicken, pork. The pantry is getting thinner. We have done a really good job cleaning it out. I am getting low on bread flour and butter. I should have enough to last the rest of the month though.
The fridge is looking pretty bare. Looks like it is a good time to give it a scrub down.
awesome job!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are running low too. A question though - do you think your grocery budget will be a lot higher in Feb because of the challenge? That was one of the reasons I gave my self $200, I didn't want to bring us down to nothing that required a massive trip Feb 1.
ReplyDeleteI am curious also about how much you'll spend to catch up. I am trying to stock my cupboards up to provide us with a few months of food in case of emergencies and don't like the idea of "emptying" the store.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I will go over my grocery budget for Feb. Mainly because we won't need to buy any big meat items. I will need to get things like peanut butter, dairy, produce, cereal, those are the things on my list so far. I will also need to make one big trip to Sam's club for things like flour, oil etc. I am hoping to get all these things at the beginning of the month and then just stock up on great deals the rest of the month.
