Buying Seeds

I picked up the remaining seeds I needed for my garden. I am planning on planting everything from seed this year as opposed to buying plants. I am planting cantaloupe, pumpkins, cucumbers, and zucchini all from seed. Last year I bought plants for these spending about $12. This year I was able to buy seeds (organic too) for less than $5.

Buying seeds is definitely a cheaper way to plant my garden. I have my garden all designed out and I will be sharing with you in another post. I am excited to get outside and start working in the dirt.

How is your garden planning going? This post is linked to the Frugal Tuesday Tip.

  1. I tried starting my plants from seed one year and I had horrible luck. Not really sure what I did wrong. I will be looking forward to seeing how yours do and maybe I will try it again next year.

I bought my seeds 2 weeks ago and I can't wait to plant them! I love gardening.

  2. What is a good price for a pack of seeds anyway? I'm going to try this again this year. I killed my plants last year, ugh! I've got to get it right this year!

  3. I haven't had much success with starting vegetables from seed. This year I bought some flower (and maybe herb) seeds to start indoors, though. My supermarket has a limited selection of seeds for 20 cents a packet, so at least the failures aren't too expensive. :)
