Here is what is on the menu for the week.
Monday...My birthday! I am requesting steak, popcorn shrimp, lettuce salad and pineapple.
Tuesday...Leftover Chicken Alfredo, homemade dinner rolls and apples.
Wednesday...Tacos and mandarin oranges.
Thursday...Fried fish, corn, blueberry muffins.
Friday...Son's last football game. Sandwiches, carrots and apples.

Other than carrots, you are missing vegetables (corn is a starch). Kids in a healthy, balanced plate.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI kind of have to agree with Anonymous above (though I will actually post my name and blog link!). Unless your other meals, like lunch, are made entirely of vegetables, you are lacking some major nutrients in your plan for the week.
ReplyDeleteStopping by from Menu Planning Monday.
I appreciate your comments. We do eat vegetables and fruits throughout the day. Our lettuce salad tonight also contains green peppers, cucumbers and carrots slices. Tomorrow night our tacos are stacked with veggies-onions, peppers, lettuce. While we may not always eat the recommended servings per day, they are still including in our diets.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks Amy for the birthday wishes!
There is benefit in a combination of fruits and veggies and I think Sara has it covered pretty well. I know when I list my menu plan I don't list every last ingredient. But my spaghetti sauce has carrots and onions in it, something that the reader (and my kids!) don't know. I send veggies to school with my kids for lunch, they drink V8 juice, etc. A brief meal plan doesn't mean that is all they are eating for the day.
