Think Before You Buy

One easy way to save some money is to think before you buy. This is something that I have gotten better at, but it can take time. When you come across something you want to purchase, take some time and think about it. First off, is it something you really need or is it just something you would like to have? Is there another option? Could you possibly borrow that item from a friend or family member? Is it something you could buy second hand?

You should reconsider even small purchases like that clearanced shirt or discounted toy. Stop and think to yourself is this something I really need or am I just buying it because it's cheap. When faced with impulse buys it's best to just walk away. Go home and think about it. If it is really something you want you can always go back. Chances are though, if you can walk away from it, you really didn't need it in the first place.

  1. I have become very good about this and almost too good. I just had to buy a washer and dryer and it was a really lengthy process for me. I took months to decide. I get the new goods tomorrow and am really comfortable and happy with my decision. Thanks for sharing your great tip!
