Here we are again. It is the end of the week and I am participating in the weekly wrap up hosted by Jennifer at Getting Ahead.
So this week wasn't as frugal as the last month has been. Since the ban has been lifted on our no spending we were out getting some supplies and groceries. With the Superbowl party we hosted I ended up spending more than I really wanted to. I guess that just means the rest of the month I need to be more aware. Here are a few things we did this week.
*We bought a new computer! My dear husband and I decided it was time to add another computer to the family. Since there is 4 of us who always want on, there is a constant battle with whose turn it is. So, we solved that and are purchasing another one. Having a hubby in the IT field made it alot easier to get a good computer for less money. He ordered all the parts and is building it himself. We saved a TON of money doing it this way. He shopped around and found the best deal. Most of it was free to ship. To buy the same computer that he is building brand new from the store would have cost us somewhere around $400 more. We saved roughly 33%!
*I signed up for lots of free samples.
*When I grocery shopped I saved approximately $13 using coupons and bought the generic brand when possible.
*Kept temperature at 67 in the house sometimes 66.
*Opened up a new bank account and got $25 free for signing up!
*Finished reading the Tightwad Gazette part II and started part III!
Feel free to share anything you did this week.
I was just reminded of this when I saw it on Money Saving Mom today but have you started doing Pinecome Research yet? I've been doing their surveys for a while now. It doesn't sound like much, but it's a nice little bonus to get $3 per survey and decent free products to test out once in a while. Mark laughs at my $3 checks but I figure it's more than a gallon of milk!
ReplyDeleteSorry, it's Pincone!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...P I N E C O N E...Seriously, sleep would do wonders here!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I was like wow 3 comments! But they are all from you! Too funny. Yes, I have heard of them. I signed up about a week ago actually. $3 bucks is $3 bucks!
ReplyDeleteJust for fun, here's one more comment...did you do an ING account? If you did I could have referred you and made $10 myself too! :o) Anyway, if you ever open another account with them like for the kids or something, remember to refer yourself(to their name/diff. email) to earn extra money that way each time too!
