It is time again for the Weekly Wrap Up. Here is what I did this week to be frugal.
*Kept heat at 67 all week. 65 at night.
*I have my cloth napkins pinned and have started working on sewing them.
*Rented movies from Redbox and the library~Free!
*Ate dinner at home each night.
*I got lots of freebies in the mail.
*I made my oldest sons birthday cake instead of buying one.
*Bought 4 shirts at Wal-Mart last night, all on clearance for $1 each!
*Tonight we are having frozen pizzas for oldest sons birthday party instead of ordering out. Saving about $50!
How did you do this week? To learn what others did visit Getting Ahead. Or you can also visit Cents To Be Debt-Free.
When my ds had his birthday party in May we cooked up some frozen pizzas, and I determined at that time that boys don't really care where the pizza is from or what is on it, they just want to eat and are happy with whatever LOL. Glad you had a good week. Thanks for participating.
ReplyDeleteI love making the kids their birthday cakes! So personal, frugal, and fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!
Our Hy-Vee has $1.69/# pork loin roast this weekend, cut anyway you want. I stopped today to get some, only to find a LOT of $1.99/# beef --- stew meat, ground meat, as well as pork chops and $0.99/# chicken breasts. Can you say stock up?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like we have a lot in common! I don't usually buy anything unless it's on sale or clearance. I just bought all of the items for my daughter's birthday treat bags for her guests on sale at Walmart...clearance items from Valentine's Day and last summer 75% off! I too usually make our birthday cakes instead of buying them. I also LOVE freebies and feel like a little kid when I get one in the mail! Our heat is on 64 all day and night. Meara and I bundle up in layers of clothes during the day and snuggle up on the couch to read and watch movies. We don't use cloth napkins. The thought has crossed my mind a couple of times. You'll have to tell me how that works out.
ReplyDeleteSo far, we have really liked the napkins. I only have 4 and there is 6 of us so....we really don't have a lot of experience yet! I am hoping to get more made or find some on clearance somewhere.
ReplyDeleteI just bought some Valentines on clearance at Wal-mart too for next year, only 25 cents! Can't beat that. And they had 16 Cars pencils with them! I was excited. I didn't check out the clothes department very well, maybe I should go back and check it out. My 13 year old boy has grown so much this past year that he has gone up almost 4 sizes! He is going to need a whole new Summer wardrobe.
