Homemade Crackers

I tried my luck with this homemade cracker recipe and my family loves them! I can't for the life of me find where I got the recipe, but it was so easy to make and didn't take very long.

Ingredients~

3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour ( or a combination of grains, I used 1/2 cup of Paul's Grains 7 grain flour)
1/2 cup melted butter
1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar in 1 cup of water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder

Add all the ingredients together in a large bowl and kneed until well blended. Divide dough in half. Roll out into a large rectangle about 1/16th inch thick. Cut into squares and place onto cookie sheet. Poke each square with a fork 2-3 times. Bake at 425 for approximately 8-10 minutes until lightly browned.

  2. Are they dense or crispy and crunchy? I've always been afraid to try the recipes I've found because they seem like they'd be too thick and dense for my taste. I may just have to try these. Thanks for sharing!

  3. They are actually pretty crunchy. The first pan I made was a little thicker but they were still pretty crunchy. The second pans I made I rolled the dough out even more and they were really crispy, I was pretty surprised!
